ROSE KINGSTON 1938 - 2018 It is with great sadness that we report the loss of a Cherished member of the Kapiti Chess Club with the sudden passing of Rose who died at home on Sunday 4 November 2018. Rose had been involved with the club for over 20 years and along with her husband "John" helped the founding members, establish Chess as an active "Sport" on the Kapiti Coast. With Rose' daughter "Zoe" also taking up the game, the "Kingston" family were an integral part of "Chess on the Coast". Over the past 10 years Rose had taken on the role of Club Secretary, assisting the Treasurer and President with the running of the club. Rose also took on the responsibilities of looking after the equipment, bringing all the sets to the club and staying till the last person left to take them home again, regularly staying an extra 2 hours or more after her own games had finished.
